The Journey is the Destination

My daughter Molly flew into New York last week to spend some time with me and her dad before heading to Providence, RI for a friend's wedding. Today, I took the wheel and together we journeyed Northeast for a mini mother/daughter road trip. Molly packed healthy snacks, made one of her stellar playlists of songs we love, and then found a bunch of questions online that prompted long conversations about love and life. Afterwards, we sat in silence, she looked out the window, and the highway rolled on.

It was the best day ever.

I'm like a panting dog with her tongue hanging out and tail wagging ferociously when someone says "road trip!" I'm the first to jump in with my head out the window and my eyes wide open. Take me anywhere - there's a certain thrill to breaking out of the familiarities of home and into new possibilities. Yet it's not just the destination, but the process of moving from one place to another that holds so much potential, excitement, and wonder. Even more fun with someone you love!

What's your adventure, yogis?
